Mercure Maldives Kooddoo Resort is a quite new resort, opened August 2018 located in Gaafu Alif atoll, not far from the Equator. It shares the island with Kooddoo domestic airport. Even tough, it is in a corner of the island very green and with pristine beaches. This means the resort is the only one in Maldives directly accessible via a domestic flight from Male (55 min) without any speedboat. It is managed by the famous French company Accor. Nearby you can find the other resort from the group in Maldives, in this case a 5-star property: Pullman Maldives.
Mercure Maldives offers a very good value in its 68 villas: 43 overwater and 25 beachfront. Most villas have sunset views, and 20 of them their own private pool. The villa interiors have stylish and contemporary design and free WiFi, USB charging ports, device docking stations and universal power sockets.
There is a spa offering a range of treatments and therapies including massages, scrubs, wraps and facials. Also a PADI 5-star certified dive and water sports center. Non motorized watersports such as snorkeling, sailing, kayaking are available free of charge. Jet skis and fun tubes are also available, but chargeable.
There are 2 restaurants offering traditional dishes, themed buffets, tapas and cocktails : Alita Restaurant is serving Asian cuisine, with indoor and al fresco seating overlooking the swimming pool and lagoon. There is a Pool Bar for light snacks and Vistas is an overwater lounge bar.
